About HD Ferries

HD Ferries is a new Channel Island ferry service which has been designed to meet the growing demands for a frequent and reliable ferry service which connects the Channel Island ports of Jersey and Guernsey to the French ports of St Malo and Cherbourg. HD Ferries now offers a competitive and value for money service for passengers and freight with frequent daily departures. The ferry service commenced on the 15th March 2007 with a daily summer service that departs from the ferry port of Jersey to the ferry port of St Malo. The winter service will consist of three weekly departures connecting each Channel Island to St Malo ensuring the best possible service is provided for the Channel Island residents and Freight passengers.

The HD1 Ferry was built in 1998 and is the newest ferry service in the Channel Islands and has a top speed of 47 knots which also makes it the fastest service currently available. The HD1 high speed catamaran ferry service provides the fastest crossing time between the ports of Jersey and St Malo, in just 1 hour.

HD1 can support 100 cars, or 70 cars and 10 freight vehicles and up to 400 passengers in a spacious and comfortable environment. The onboard services consist of duty free shop with a wide range of available goods and a fully licensed bar and café.
