Up until 1973 Bornholmstrafikken was a privately run company but is now owned by the Danish state and provides essential transport between the island of Bornholm, Denmark and Sweden. The Bornholmstrafikken service is continually being updated and developed and they have recently introduced two new ships to help transport passengers, mail and goods to and from the island of Bornholm.
